We may be used to seeing high-contrast fades from well-worn Oldblue Co. jeans, but here we have a pair that’s highlighted by its unique texture rather than the slightly more subtle fades. College student Federico Malvin, of Indonesia, has been wearing this pair of Oldblue Co. Extra Slub for a little over 3 years, and they take the spot for today’s Fade Of The Day.

Federico lost count of how many times he’s washed his jeans, which, along with the 14.5 oz. denim, has led to heavy dye loss and those more restrained fades that come through in the form of faint whiskers and honeycombs. We’ve also got some tight roping on the hems, and dark patina on the horsehide leather patch.

The wonder of these jeans is the unique character of the fabric:  it’s slubby throughout, and just check out the sheer nep on the lower legs!

You can find Federico on Instagram.
