Fade of the Day – Sage Matterhorn (13 Months, 3 Washes)

Brands name their jeans in many ways, some with a simple ‘lot number’, some with a quirky name. But when your jeans are named after a mountain, you know you having something epic on your hands. This pair of Sage Matterhorns come to us courtesy of Amosik Nainggolan, of Indonesia, and weighing it a whopping 24 oz., they tip the scales for today’s Fade Of The Day.

Amosik tells us he wears these jeans everyday, but mostly indoors, so the heavyweight denim is still going strong. That said, the lap is wearing down well and there are some solid honeycombs which wrap ’round to the knees. Three washes have been recorded—enough to soften them up to reduce friction during wear, but leave them rigid enough to produce the crispy fades that such heavy jeans are capable of.

Like climbing the great Matterhorn of the Alps, wearing these beasts must be a tough task, but with enough time and commitment, Amosik will certainly reach the pinnacle of fades.
