Mastersons Release No.32 Reprieve Herringbone Shirt

One-man shirtmaker Michael Masterson is back with another one of his masterpieces: the Reprieve shirt. Though the shirt’s full of classic Masterson details — like hand-installed buttons, a continuous back, gussets, the whole nine yards — the spotlight is set squarely on the fabric. It’s taken from a pre-Civil War era design with the same pattern and colorway, one that uses two different shades of indigo to form the herringbone stripes, with a touch of red woven in.

Look closely enough and it’s like you’re looking at one of those optical illusions where the lines appear as though they’re slanted. It’s feathery light at just 6oz., but comes loomstate. So, beware of shrinkage. Just like his many products, this one is truly limited. Seriously. There are only 15 shirts for this release, so you might want to think fast.

Available for $432 at Mastersons.
