Gather round, we’re going back to the earliest days of Nike’s skateboarding division, Nike SB. It was the early 2000s and skating was, yet again, sweeping the nation. There was a Pac Sun in every mall and a three-stair in front of every garage. Footwear giant Nike wanted in on some of that sweet skater cash and they launched Nike SB in March of 2002.

One of the first skaters on the lineup was renowned Ollie master, Reese Forbes. Forbes’ signature shoe was a low top version of the classic Nike Dunk, but done in two tone denim and cut so that the edges of the fabric would fray up with skating. It was a guaranteed star shoe, but Forbes had second thoughts–he jumped ship at Nike for Quiksilver and only 444 pairs were ever made. Those are some of the most collectible pairs on eBay to this day.

Now, fifteen years later, Nike has rereleased the Forbes shoe in a high top while keeping the red accent sole. Tear up a pair before it’s too late for $110 at Nike.
