From its birth and subsequent adoption by the workwear industry in the 1890s, to becoming the world’s most recognised jean, we can always count on a pair of selvedge Levi’s to bring us some decent fades. This pair of Levi’s 501 Shrink-to-Fit belong to Rob Thomas of Michigan, who has worn them practically every day for the past seven months.

Nothing out of the ordinary here, just classic fades on a pair of classic blue jeans—and sometimes that’s best. Symmetrical whiskers have developed through the crotch, and the knees have faded so much that the right one has blown through, creating a gnarly, frayed hole. On the back, he’s got some solid honeycombs and an icy-white pocket fade to boot.

We’ve even got some subtle train track fades running down the outseam, and some nice roping on the hems, so these Levis tick all the boxes for today’s Fade Of The Day.
