Fade of the Day – Tellason Gustave (10 Months, 1 Soak)

American denim produced in the Cone Mills factory is often overlooked by some denimheads, one’s that believe it doesn’t produce the unpredictable, contrasting fades that Japanese denim is known for. Today’s Fade Of The Day, however, shows that this isn’t always the case. After just 10 months of wear, these Tellason Gustaves, brought to us by Luke Angevine of the USA, are showing some pretty wild fades.

This pair has all our favorite hallmarks—whiskers, pocket fades and some sharp honeycombs that wrap ’round to the frontside of the knees. Luke has only washed them once, so the fades are vivid and in high-contrast against the deep, ocean-blue denim.

The lower legs might need some attention soon after showing some fraying from cuffing the hems, but the rip on the knee is the only other damage thus far, and it only brings more wabi-sabi character to these beauties.

Luke can be found over on Instagram.
