Breakdancing, shipping logistics, and Viberg. What do all these things have in common? Cardboard. Viberg’s latest is their clean, straightforward Derby Boot, this time crafted in a Horween Mahogany Shell Cordovan. The traditionally non-porous, shiny equine-behind leather takes on a boxboard print, which is Horween’s fancy way of saying that it’s a hatch grain. Not quite sure that it passes as some sort of cardboard texture, but that’s beside the point. Plain toe, eight blind eyelets, a goodyear welt, natural midsoles, and a Dainite outsole make up just some of the details on this boxy boot.
It’s pretty rare to see this leather in anything but a smooth grain, so you might want to hop on it while it’s still on pre-order.
