One jean emerges from the shadows to help bring you this edition of Fade Of The Day, in the form of this pair of 3Sixteen SL-121 Shadows. These jeans come to us courtesy of Zak Wagner, of Colorado. Zak works a desk job, and although he works somewhere cool enough to allow jeans in the office, he’s also had to work hard on the weekends to earn the fades we’re seeing here.
As well as weekend camping and hiking, Zak also wore these jeans on a long motorcycle excursion from Colorado to Southern California at the height of last summer. His antics have earned patina all over the denim,, from the rippling whiskers, to the stacked up honeycombs behind the knees. The fabric is crispy and slubby, so the fades possess that rough, chalk-white tone which pops through the deep indigo.
These bad boys are currently at Self Edge awaiting repairs on the crotch and hem. But judging by what we’re seeing here, Zak will be continuing his mission for fades as soon as he gets them back.
