Fade of the Day – Léon Denim 1947 Memphis (9 Months, 3 Washes, 1 Soak)

There’s a first time for everything, and Léon Denim decided to be the first raw denim brand to come out of the Philippines. For this edition of Fade Of The Day, we have a pair of Léon Denim 1947 Memphis, that come to us from Heddels reader Iver Aldas, of the brand’s homeland.

Iver is a documentary photographer, and these jeans have gone everywhere his job has taken him over the past nine months. There’s no doubt that crouching to get the perfect shot has helped to create those awesome honeycombs, but it also has contributed to the multiple crotch blowouts that the denim has suffered. Unlike most faded jeans we see, all the pocket fades are happening on the front. There’s even a coin-pocket fade from carrying  a box of mints—so Iver has fresh breath as well as fresh fades.

Luckily, whenever blowouts have occurred, Iver has been quick to the mark to repair them himself with spare scraps of denim. Clearly he’s not slowing down anytime soon.

You can find Iver over on Instagram.
