Viberg’s Latest Service Boot Serves Up Lightly Toasted Reindeer

Viberg is no stranger to exotic leathers. Kangaroo, bullhide, and camel have all found themselves ’round Viberg’s lasts. And to remind us of this predilection, one of their latest makeups sees reindeer leather make its way back to the Canadian craftspeople, this time in the form of their Service Boot.

The reindeer hide comes from a small Norwegian tannery, with leather allegedly from the Claus ranch (source has yet to be confirmed). The lightly toasted leather is vegetable tanned and matches the natural midsole, which is affixed to the upper via a flat goodyear welt. A brogue’d cap toe and blind eyelets dress up the boot while the dainite soles prepare it for slippery situations.

Available for $770 at Viberg.
