Specifically engineered to fade, 3sixteen is taking their denim nerd game to a whole new level with the release of their 40BSP 16.5oz. “Caustic Wave” Denim, ready to transfer fresh indigo onto all of your light colored furniture.
What exactly is a cCaustic wave’? Scientifically speaking, it’s what happens when light reflects off of a round surface. But we have a hunch 3sixteen isn’t really referring to the literal definition, although they definitely expect the denim to create some high-contrast electric blue fades in those high-friction points we love to observe.
The denim itself is a 16.5oz. unsanforized pure indigo-dyed selvedge, produced custom by Kuroki Mills in Japan. Rich with a variety of textures throughout the weave, and paired with twisted cotton yarns of all different lengths, the finished product is much more abrasive than you’d think — kind of like denim sandpaper. Pain and pleasure are synonymous here. The 40BSP is cut in their newest straight tapered fit, which has a true medium rise and comfy top block that tapers aggressively below the knees. Other details include heavy duty canvas “Destroyer” pocket bags, hidden rivets, and custom debossed leather patch.
