It’s time for Fade Of The Day, and it’s another well-crafted, well-loved piece of U.S.A-made leather, this time in the form of a Craft and Lore Mountain Belt, submitted to us by Chad Von Lind of North Idaho. This isn’t the first time Chad has sent us some appreciated leather, and after almost two years of hard wear, this belt is showing some serious patina.
We might be used to seeing natural vegetable tanned leather on our fade features, but the deep Russet tone of this belt has aged beautifully. Darker and lighter tones have developed on the various stress-points, most interestingly the two dark stripes at either side of the most used hole. Thick indigo bleed can be seen the inside of the strap too, so you know this heavy-duty belt was paired with some nice raw denim—just how it should be.
