Fade of the Day – Iron Heart IHxVS-T1-DD jacket (1.5 Years, 3 Washes, 2 Soaks)

Who could get bored of double indigo and how it fades? Certainly not us. For this edition of Fade Of The Day, we have this Iron Heart IHxVS-T1-DD jacket, submitted to us by Carsten Witschel of Germany. As if this deep indigo, heavy duck-cotton, Type 1-inspired jacket wasn’t already the bees knees, a year and a half of hard wear has taken it to a whole new level.

Carsten has worn this piece as a traditional cowboy jacket, riding horses and working on a ranch. And the vivid, chalky-white fades he’s earned just prove that sometimes, you can’t beat the traditional way of doing things. The deep-indigo fabric is developing an electric blue cast in some areas, especially in the rippling fades all over the torso. But the star of the show is those monster honeycombs on the arms—shredded and full of contrast.

No repairs have been needed yet, and Carsten’s jacket is looking like it’s still going strong. We have a feeling we’ll be seeing this beast again for Fade Friday.
