It’s time for Fade Of The Day, and while these pants might look like a vintage pick-up or archive piece, they are, in fact, a pair of well worn Rising Sun & Co. Worker Jeans in brown duck. They belong to Johan Winata of Indonesia, and after two years of hard wear, these cotton-duck pants have aged so authentically that they wouldn’t look out of place on an early 1900s railroad worker.
Johan tells us he wears these pants 5 days a week, only hanging them up on the weekends. He didn’t tell us how he’s achieved such a rugged patina, but the faded, vintage cast and splatters would suggest he puts them through their paces. Vintage hallmarks come in the form of some rusty copper rivets, donut buttons, and a faded patch, which has absorbed some brown dye during washing.
