Oni and Burgus Plus Mix ‘n’ Match Different Denims for Their Latest Collaboration, the ONI-850

When department store jean brands get weird, it usually involves over the top gold embroidery, pre-faded denim, and generally tasteless detailing. But when Oni and Burgus Plus decide to get weird, you know you’re in for a treat. The result is the ONI-850 15.5oz. Natural Indigo Dyed jeans, which are just that and so much more—because more denim equals more fades!

The unsanforized 15.5oz. Japanese denim is dyed with natural indigo and woven at a low tension for maximum texture. After that, it’s given a tempi treatment, which reduces shrinkage while helping to retain all of that raw, uneven texture. The dark denim was dip-dyed repeatedly to attain heavy indigo saturation, and the contrasting rear pockets and coin pocket are made from a combination of Oni’s Secret Denim and Natural Indigo Secret Denim, offering some variety to the overall look of the jeans that’ll make for some truly interesting fades.

Paying homage to the collective efforts of both companies, the jean has two leather back patches (one from each brand). That might seem like overkill to the discerning clean-cut denim dude, but, in the end, who can blame the collaborators for being proud of their work?

Available for $325 at Tate + Yoko.
