Fade of the Day – RRL Slim Bootcut (10 Years, 2 Washes, 4 Soaks)

RRL fades have been seriously blowing up our inbox of late, and for good reason: it’s an accessible mid-tier jean that strikes a superb balance of well-fading denim, a good fit, and a decent price. Aaron, a Brooklynite and fellow denim lover, has worn his RRL Slim Bootcut Selvedge Jeans for a decade, and that dedication is well-worthy of today’s Fade Of The Day.

We’re not sure which is more impressive, that he’s worn these for 10 years or that he’s washed them just twice over the course of that time. He’s worked, played, kicked it at home and traveled in his Bootcuts and has some nice fades to show for it. As you would guess, he’s had his fair share of repairs at this stage, most of which he’s mended on his own, sans a couple trickier repairs handled by Self Edge NY.

Back to the fades. We see all the fixins’ here: whiskers, honeycombs and plenty of variation in indigo depletion. And because the fades aren’t too deep, that lends us to think this pair might have another 10 years left in them.
