Fade of the Day – Naked & Famous Japan Heritage (2 Years, 2 Washes)

Naked & Famous have a fabric out there for almost every denim head, and if slubby denim is your thing, then check out this Fade Of The Day. This pair of Naked & Famous Japanese Heritage Weird Guys come to us courtesy of Nick Teoh, of Canada. And in typical N&F fashion, they’re made with a a special fabric—a 14 oz. Japanese denim with an irregular, slubby weave that has produced some stellar fades.

Lets face it, the best way to get fades is to wear your jeans as much as possible. And that’s exactly what Nick has done for the past two years. As the indigo dye has broken down, the fabric has  revealed a cross hatching pattern all over, making for a coarse texture with some chalky fades. The whiskers are strong and pronounced, and they’re matched by some killer honeycombs that are starting to shred between the creases because of the abrasive denim.

Add some nice stacking and some beefy pocket fades, and bingo! Another solid ‘Fade.’ The best part is Nick still has a shed-load of indigo left, so we might be seeeing these jeans again for Fade Friday.
