Fade of the Day – Samurai Jeans S5000OG 16 oz. (2 Years, 2 Washes, 1 Soak)

It can be hard to choose between all the pairs of beautifully faded Samurai Jeans we receive in our fade inbox, but this pair of S5000OGs ticked all the boxes for today’s Fade Of The Day. They come to us courtesy of university student Giovan Fiecky, who’s been wearing them for two years in the hot, humid climates of Indonesia.

These jeans are made of organic 16 oz. denim, which is lighter by Samurai standards considering the beastly denims in their roster. This means the fades aren’t as carved and super-defined, but more uniform and subtle—and that’s part of the charm. They’ve seen water three times, including a seawash, leaving the fabric with an American-blue cast, with contrasting dye loss on lap and seat. Strong, symmetrical whiskers run down the inner thigh, and on the frontside, there’s a strong set of honeycombs that wrap ’round to the knee.

To top it all off, the hems are nice and roped, and that badass leather waist patch has got some patina of it’s own.
