If you’re into the satisfying clacking of mechanical keyboards, enjoy the zen of knitting, AND are a diehard advocate of EDC, you probably already shop at Massdrop. For those not in the know, Massdrop is a community commerce site that brings together enthusiasts of all sorts for shopping products designed by and for the community. One of those niches is menswear, which, if you don’t know by now, is a space that we sort of occupy a little bit. Collaborating with the likes of Allen Edmonds and Hollows Leather, their custom makeups are just another reason to sign up. Their latest collaboration is with the folks at Naked & Famous and we flew to Montreal to see it all come together.

Every detail about the jean was carefully calculated with Massdrop looking to the /r/rawdenim subreddit as well as their own raw denim community for what the people wanted. The denim they’re using is made with natural indigo specifically for this collaboration and weighs in at a respectable 13.75oz. so it’s basically a year-rounder for most people. As for the cut, they chose to go with N&F’s most popular fit, a mid-rise slim taper silhouette dubbed the Weird Guy. Natural veg-tan leather patch and Kentucky-made YKK hardware pull it all together, making it a well-rounded jean.

As for price, that’s the part where it gets really interesting. It’s difficult to find a pair of solid selvedge denim jeans under $150, though N&F occasionally dips below that every so often.
