Fade of the Day – Corter Leather Standard Utility Belt (1 Year)

Today’s Fade of the Day comes by way of James in Springfield, Missouri, who let us take a gander at his well-worn Standard Utility Belt by Corter Leather. James was given the belt as a gift for Christmas back in 2015 and it has clearly absorbed his activities since the first time he secured it at his waist.

As an antiques director, James’ day job has him in a wide array of environments: inside, outdoors, dry, damp—you name it, and he and his belt have endured it. He also relies on it after hours and on weekends, so it’s accompanied him on hikes and adventures in far off locations like Arizona, Colorado, and Puerto Rico; numerous concerts with friends; and has been by his side through the addition of a new puppy to the family.

There just isn’t anything else like a sun-carmalized brown leather belt, is there? We see some nice gradation to the patina, plenty of darker streaks from getting damp (or perhaps a bit of grease), and some nice creasing. Looking pretty sweet for only two years.
