What do you do when your favorite jeans are thrashed beyond repair? Turn them into shorts, that’s what! Well at least that’s what Heddels reader Steven Howard, of Turkey, did with his pair of Levi’s 501 STF’s, which he’s been wearing for more than six years now.

Steven has worn these Levis while traveling around the Republic of Georgia and teaching in many parts of Turkey. After both knees burst through completely, he decided to carry on his fade quest by cutting them down into shorts. There is barely a shred of indigo dye left, but you can still see remnants of the whiskers, and some nice roping on the yolk and back-pocket seams.

Extensive repairs have been needed all over, and it looks like these Levi’s could be coming to end of the road. But judging by what we’re seeing here, Steven will wear them until they’re totally threadbare.
