Freewheelers Updates the Classic M-1941 Field Jacket

Not many brands can hit that military sweet-spot quite like Freewheelers, and their new M-1941 Field Jacket is another US-Army inspired piece, perfect for chilling with your band of brothers, or even when you’re called upon to save Private Ryan.

Based on the M-41 jacket largely worn by American G.I’s in WWII, Freewheelers have crafted their version with the modern wardrobe in mind. The sleeves, originally wide and loose, have been slimmed down and tapered along with the body, resulting in a more versatile silhouette that will work with anything from slim jeans to wide-legged fatigues.

As for materials, Freewheelers have used specially developed fabrics all over the jacket. The outer shell is constructed from overdyed, high-density olive poplin cloth, which will fade and develop a unique texture with age, and the lining is made from a soft and breathable lightweight flannel. It’s not short on details either, with adjustable cuffs, urea buttons, and V-stitch detailing on the collar, which has a hidden chin-strap underneath for the colder months.

Available for $660AUD ($505USD) at Corlection.
