Railcar Takes Things Lightly With Their 11oz. Selvedge Denim Spikes X040 Jeans

A lot of guys have only one pair of jeans, but (while very doable) it can put the wearer in a position where they’re either feeling too chilly for comfort or too muggy to bear for a handful of months a year. Depending on location, you may even have to endure both extremes.

But why not wear your heavier denim when the weather’s cooler and have a lighter-weight pair for when the heat turns up? In other words, wear them when their characteristics have the most utility. That’s the idea with Railcar Fine Goods’ 11oz. Selvedge X040 jeans, and not only are they great for when the sun beats down, but they’re also a very limited edition item — only 80 pairs of these were made in total.

Exclusivity aside, the Japanese selvedge denim has a white weft, and an indigo warp with a nice charcoal tone and a pretty snazzy character, especially when those fades shine through. Very starchy to begin with, the jeans smooth out nicely and get soft quickly with wear. Triple flat-felled seat seams, a double flat-felled inseam, a two-piece waistband with tucked chain stitching, and custom hand-set copper hardware round out the detailing for that Railcar-tested durability.
