After the success of their last denim collaboration with Naked & Famous, Massdrop has teamed up this time around with the Spanish one-man denim brand, Companion, for a brand new pair of jeans — served fresh with an extra tasty and more palatable price tag.
If you don’t shop on Massdrop, essentially what you need to know is that it works on a sort of pre-sale system, asking potential buyers to commit to purchasing a given item in advance in order to secure the goods at a lower pricepoint. Usually, the more people that commit, the more the prices drop, and even though the consumer (you) pays less, the maker still wins by converting additional sales.
For this drop, Companion chose to work with a 14oz. Green Cast Selvedge Denim, cut in their popular Joel Slim cut for a more fitted profile that can work well with a variety of body types. Although the brand is literally just Iu Franquesa, he manages to run his company without cutting any corners, sewing each pair of jeans himself, by hand on vintage machines. This pair contains some signature Companion features, such as a selvedge key loop above the front pocket, reinforced pockets, chain stitched hems and a binded fly.
