Fade of the Day – Naked & Famous Okayama Spirit 2 (14 Months, 4 Washes, 2 Soaks)

The break-in process on double-dyed indigo can be hard to get started, and getting those first fades to show up really requires some work. But good things come to those who are patient, and Heddels reader Andy Witt of Philadelphia understands that truism all too well. He’s stuck it out for the last 14 months in his Naked & Famous Okayama Spirit 2’s, earning some righteous fades along the way.

His key to success was persistence, and he wore these jeans close to every day during that time for daily activities and while working in a warehouse, which has literally knocked the blue right out of them. The strongest fades are seen through the thighs, but these actually have a ton of character throughout. Solid whiskers, back pocket and seam fades, big honeycombs and textbook stacking are all present and accounted for, all with seemingly minimal repairs needed so far.
