The Bureau wanted a color of suede you don’t see every day, and we’re here to say that Viberg delivered. This variant of The Bureau’s exclusive Scout Boot is in what they call “Red Dog,” but let’s call a spade a spade here—this boot is Persimmon. If your preferred palette runs medium-to-low in saturation and light in value, however, this boot could be a god-send regardless of name, so who am I to judge. And besides, Persimmon is supposed to be big this fall, or so I hear. Er, I mean Red Dog.

Between the oil-tanned, rough-out calf-suede upper, which will patina nicely, and the Vibram Beige 2021 sole, this boot is going to be lighter in weight when compared to similar work boots with lug or double leather soles that are paired with leather uppers. Between that and the un-structured toe, you may want to save this pair for casual duty and city stepping.
