Fade Friday – Carnivores Soul Tigris (13 Months, 7 Washes)

Like Gucci Mane and V-Nasty said, let’s get faded. This week’s Fade Friday is an impressive pair of 17 oz. Carnivores Soul Tigris coming to us from Taufik Dharmawan in Indonesia. After only a year, these Carnivores Soul’s have a lot of high contrast fading and are losing dye in all the right places.

Taufik says he wears his jeans for anything and everything, seven days a week, in the heat and rain of Indonesia, and he also tells us that he washes this pair a lot to achieve the fades he is looking for. Whether it’s due to the magic hot rain of Indonesia that fades so many noteworthy jeans we see, or that he’s washing them in some kind of time machine that makes one year of fading look like three, his plan seems to have worked.

Taufik has created prominent whiskering in the lap, thighs and knees, and stark honeycombing at the back of the knees. The thighs, calves and seat have faded down to an impressive paled teal, which contrasts heavily with areas that have still retained a lot of the original dark indigo. As a bonus, the heavy creasing from the cuffs in the ankles has begun to fade at the bottom-most cuff, almost to the point tearing. Otherwise, these jeans have a lot of wear (and hopefully little tear) to go.
