Fade of the Day – Levi’s 501 STF (6 Months, Unknown Washes)

Sure, there are plenty of carpenter pants out there, but if you’re a denim head and a carpenter, there’s only one option for your daily workwear—raw denim jeans. This pair of Levi’s 501 STF’s belong to the Wisconsin-based Heddels reader Josh Rosengren, a carpenter who’s been wearing them for six months, and they’re also today’s Fade of the Day.

Josh was looking for a pair of durable jeans for work and ended up opting for these Levi’s, and he tells us they’ve held up better than any of his other work jeans. Josh’s job requires a lot of physical work and he’s had to thoroughly wash these Levi’s countless times, which explains the super-blue tone the denim has adopted. As well as some heavily faded knees, the lap is covered in dirty fades is starting to shed the indigo dye.

As well as some damage towards the hems that comes from cuffing his jeans, Josh tells us the tear above the right knee was caused by a rogue screw. He has since patched this up himself, but judging by what we’re seeing here, this isn’t the last repair these Levi’s are going to need.
