Still By Hand’s Zip Bomber Blends Wool With Silk

Sure, summer’s a blast, but when jackets like this Still By Hand Zip Bomber start rolling off the production line, the colder months become a lot more appealing and the human need to insulate becomes a much swaggier affair.

This bomber is another meticulously crafted piece of handiwork from the Japanese artisans of Still By Hand, with an outer constructed from a blended wool/silk fabric done in a heavily flecked and highly textured charcoal colorway. Lined with a warm-but-breathable 3M Ex-Soft Thinsulate bonded padding, the jacket also has a sleek nylon lining to keep things running smoothly. The authentic, boxy cut of a bomber makes way for an updated, slimmer fit — more length in the body and star-gusseted shoulders for extra mobility — but details like ribbed wool cuffs and collar, a dual YKK zipper with leather pulls, and dual front-patch pockets help to maintain the classic flight-bomber aesthetic.

Each jacket is proudly made in Japan, and comes complete with an internal storm-placket, an interior chest pocket, and a neckline locker-loop for easy storage.

Available at Division Road for $475.
