Fade of the Day – Red Wing 8111 Iron Ranger (3 Years)

Denim and leather go together like peas and carrots. Today’s Fade Of The Day features a pair of sweet Red Wing 8111 Iron Ranger’s, care of Kevin Devaney.

After three years of wear, Kevin just got his pair back from Red Wing Repair, who applied some fresh Neoprene Cord soles to the boots. You can see that Kevin has applied some Sno Seal at the seams, which has turned those areas darker, for water resistance. He’s done your standard maintenance by applying mink oil once—offering additional protection from the elements and acting as an added conditioner to the leather—but apart from that, the replacing of busted laces and this fresh pair of soles he’s had applied, he’s done what you should do with a well made pair of boots: beat ’em into the ground.

The condition of the leather looks excellent, has patinated nicely, and you can make out where the material has molded to his foot. These puppies have been fully broken in and look great!
