Fade Friday – Naked & Famous Okayama Spirit 2 (2 Years, 1 Wash, 2 Soaks)

Fade Friday is here! And to bolster your Friday feeling, we’re kicking off the weekend with some “Okayama Spirit.” Luke Simpson from Canada sent in his pair of Naked & Famous Okayama Spirit 2’s, which have been on the road to fades for two years now.

These jeans have been with Luke through the good, the bad, and the ugly. They traveled around Canada, they’ve seen numerous hospital trips, and Luke tells us he only washed these for the first time after being advised to do so by a doctor!

And through that time, he’s earned some lovely wear. We’ve got some stacked up whiskers on the lap, stark stacking at the lower legs, and some shredded honeycombs that are just as visible on the front side of the knee. And now with one machine wash and two hot soaks to their name, these N&Fs are looking blue as hell, with the slubby nature of the 18 oz. denim now ever so apparent.

Luke hasn’t recorded any repairs as of yet, but he tells us that the stack fades are so intense they’re starting to shoot through the denim. With this in mind, he’s slowly retiring them. Roll on the next pair, we say.
