Fade of the Day – Iron Heart IH-555-01 (~4 Years, Unknown Washes)

When it comes down to it, fading a pair of raw denim jeans really isn’t rocket science:  you just have to wear them. A lot. And that’s exactly what Brooklyn-based David Loring-Lee has done with this pair of Iron Heart IH-555-01’s, which he’s been rocking for just over four years.

We’re used to seeing dynamic, comic-strip style fades from Iron Heart, but thanks to a relaxed washing routine of regular machine-washes, David’s pair have developed a more subtle and authentic wear pattern. The lap has seen the most dye loss, with whiskers just managing to emerge through the shredded thighs. In addition to some nice patina on the back pockets, David has also worked in some solid honeycombs that wrap around to the front side of the knees.

With no repairs after nearly half a decade, you can bet these Iron Heart’s are gonna see a lot more wear. Oh, and if you’ve noticed those unusual fades on the lower legs, David tells us they came from pulling up his socks. We’ll just call those sock fades for now.
