Fade of the Day – Pure Blue Japan XX-05 (2 Year, 0 Washes)

Today’s edition of Fade of the Day comes to us courtesy of Darren, from Australia, who has submitted his pair of Pure Blue Japan XX-05 in honor of their second birthday.

Darren didn’t disclose too much about his PBJs, only that they’ve seen regular wear and six washes over the last two years. Whatever he’s been up to, it’s sure made for some impressive fades, most notably the piled-up whiskers, crispy stacks, and three-dimensional honeycombs behind the knees. There are some beautifully subtle fades, too, like the faint puckering on the waistband, and the tight roping on the hems.

The only damage these jeans have seen is the hole on the back pocket, which was caused by the button on Darren’s Red Moon wallet. That phone fade seems to be making it’s way through the denim, too, but both will only require a minor patch job and Darren can carry on fading these Pure Blues until they’re pure white.
