Railcar Rolls Out Their Proprietary 15oz. Super Slub Denim

If you’re in need of a heavy dose of indigo, Railcar‘s latest jean, the Spikes x034 Super Slub, is just what the doctor ordered.

The California-based brand has been waiting on this special fabric for over a year, and their patience has been rewarded with the delivery of a 15oz. denim with more slubs than you can shake a shuttle loom at. It’s also absolutely loaded with dark, inky indigo dye, which will yield high-contrast, electric blue fades as it breaks down.

Cut from their slim-tapered ‘Spikes’ fit, the X034 uses a classic five-pocket construction and features hidden back-pocket rivets, double red-lined selvedge ID, chain stitched hems, and a flat-felled inseam. Railcar also put on a double-layered waistband to reduce shrinkage at the waistline, and finished the jean with a branded veg-tan leather waist patch.

Just like all of Railcar’s products, these jeans are made in the U.S.A — cut and sewn in the Railcar’s Monrovia workshop. And (just as an added bonus) if you order through Railcar, you can enjoy a chainstitch hemming service at no extra cost.

Available from Railcar Fine Goods and Context Clothing for $220.
