Wrangler Releases White Oak Denim Jeans with Their 27406 Collection

Oh, White Oak, how the denim community will miss you and all you have done. If you’re hoping to grab yourself some of this historic denim before it’s gone forever, check out the latest release by a true American classic — Wrangler. The 27406 Collection features both tops and bottoms made with what could very well be some of the last batch of Cone Mills selvedge denim to be made before they close their doors for good.

The number 27406 references the zip code for where Wrangler and White Oak call home — Greensboro, North Carolina. This collection features denim jackets and jeans for both men and women, though you’ll only find selvedge on the men’s items (sorry ladies, you’ll have to wait until later in 2018). Everything is produced in limited runs and is numbered and signed off by the sewer that assembled it so you know you’re getting a piece of American history that’s worth holding onto.

As for the denim itself, each of the men’s pieces is made with Cone Mills 13oz. raw selvedge denim with about as much of that self edge left intact as possible and hidden throughout each garment. The lady’s pieces are made with a 93% cotton, 6% poly, 1% spandex denim that is lighter in hue but still looks as if it came out of a time capsule for a true heritage feel. The jackets feature classic Wrangler silhouettes with dual chest pockets and waist pockets with signature “W” arcuates, and the jeans are offered in a couple of different fits ranging on the slimmer side for the modern gent, with the women’s jeans able to be cut on the skinny side with the additional stretch. Though it’s sad to see Cone Mills hang their hats, it’s a great time to appreciate American companies coming together to celebrate their past.

Available from $225-$265 at Wrangler.
