Fade of the Day – Dillon Montara Indigo Wool Camper (3 Years)

It’s time for Fade of the Day, and for today’s installment, we have a Dillon Montara Blanket Lined Chore Coat, coming to us from Vancouver’s Alex Boswell. This is a fade debut for San Francisco-based brand Dillon Montara, but this chore coat—made of an indigo dyed cotton/wool blend fabric—is looking great after three years of wear.

Alex tells us this coat hasn’t seen any intentional washes or soaks, but it’s been soaked by rainfall many times. After wearing it pretty much every day, the deep-indigo fabric is showing handsome, chalky-white fades on the cuffs and elbows, and subtle roping is beginning to form as well, especially along the shoulder seams and around the pockets.

This coat looks like one of those pieces that will hold it’s dye for some time, but the subtle fades Alex has earned act as a preview of how good it will look in another three years.
