Rich, indigo-dyed denim with slubs as far as the eye can see? You can bet it’s another pair of well-loved Pure Blue Japan jeans checking in for this edition of Fade of the Day. This pair of PBJ XX-18oz.-013 come to us courtesy of Zach Tugaoen, who hangs his hat out in Columbus, Ohio.
Medical student Zach has been rocking these PBJs day-in and day-out for the past year, and in this time, he’s done well to break in the insanely slubby, 18 oz. denim, carving out some nice fades in the process. The coarse denim has begun to wear down and lose its indigo dye in places, especially on the calves and seat. And the creases might not be super defined just yet, but Zach has earned the foundations for some gnarly, tight-knit honeycombs, and some patina in the lap in form of whiskers and pocket fades.
