Whatever the secret of Oni’s “secret denim,” today’s Fade of the Day, a pair of Oni 288zr Secret Denim, proves it’s something good. Oni doesn’t provide much insight when it comes to their ‘Secret’ denim, and by “much,” we mean “any.” But while it may be a tad bit harder for retailers to sell, it’s all the more intriguing for the owner of these jeans, Clay Beene of Stillwater, Oklahoma.

After seven months of wearing them nearly everyday—even while working as a bicycle mechanic—we’re seeing some solid fades forming and some great character shining through. From these pics, we’re seeing a bit of a grainy slub to the denim, as well as a degree of vertical following, and both just add flavor to those nice fades. This pair turned out to be a happy surprise!
