Fade of the Day – Machine Era Co. Slim Brass Wallet (4 Years)

Today’s installment of Fade of the Day comes by way of Brooklyn, New York City, in the form of this Machine Era Co. Slim Brass Wallet. Owner and Heddels reader, Max Fine, has been using this wallet to carry his everyday cards and cash for the past four years, and it’s gained more and more patina with every transaction.

Apart from the occasional belt buckle, we rarely see a good piece of weathered metal in our daily fade features, but Matt’s wallet is here to compete with all the well-worn denim and leather we get in our inbox.

Far from your conventional wallet or cardholder, the brass components of this Machine Era Co. piece have worn down nicely, yielding a patina that ranges from rugged, dirty tones to shiny accents, where daily use has polished the brass in some places. The strap is also showing signs of wear in its frays and tears, but it still has plenty of life left to secure Max’s hard-earned cash.
