Fade of the Day – Samurai Jeans 710BKB (2 Years, 2 Washes, 1 Soak)

Samurai Jeans emerges from the darkness to bring us today’s Fade of the Day, with this pair of S710BK’s that come to us courtesy of Ryan Hodges, from New York. Black raw denim is a tough nut to crack, but Ryan has put in two years of wear to earn himself some shadowy fades.

Apart from the initial pre-soak, these Sam’s have only seen two washes in their tenure, so for the most part, the black dye is holding true. They may not be totally shredded, but it’s this lack of dye-loss that adds charm to the subdued, chalky fades that have appeared, like the whiskers in the lap and the subtle honeycombs behind the knees.

Ryan’s also earned some solid roping at the hems, and he hasn’t had to conduct any repairs to date, so he can keep rocking these stealthy beauties for the foreseeable future.
