Levi’s Vintage Clothing Collabs with Albert Einstein

If you went to Inspiration, Rin Tanaka’s trade show of all things vintage, heritage, and workwear, the other weekend, you probably noticed the Levi’s Vintage Clothing booth and saw the company had hired an actor to play Albert Einstein. I knew ever since Levi’s bought Einstein’s famous jacket at auction that a recreation was on the way, but I hadn’t quite imagined they would be dragging some old dude out to the hippest vintage event of the year. The actor playing Einstein waved at me like a mall Santa and I ran away, feeling super uncomfortable. That imposter knows nothing about relativity let alone Newtonian physics.

Questionable advertising aside, this jacket is killer. It’s 100% sheepskin and pre-aged, with a subtle patina all over. It’s unlined and features all the iconic details: a short menlo collar, buttons, and side cinches. It will even come with a vial of perfume that mimics the jackets famous “pungent” odor brought on by years of wear and Einstein’s famous pipe-smoking.

The only thing that isn’t included is the genius… and the zany hair.
