Naked & Famous is Recycling Yarns for Their Latest Selvedge Jeans

Let’s face it:  when we’re choosing our next pair of selvedge jeans, most of us are more worried about how much they weigh than their environmental impact. Thankfully, the Canadian denim wizards at Naked & Famous are doing their part for the planet with their latest invention, called Recycled Yarn Selvedge.

Using a blend of recycled indigo fibers and undyed cotton yarns, this innovative denim is woven in Japan and finished with a pink selvedge ID. Weighing in at 12.5oz. per square yard, the upcycled yarns create a steely light indigo cast that works perfect in a rotation with your darker jeans. And despite the unconventional fabric, Naked & Famous stuck to the trustworthy five-pocket formula, with a selvedge coin-pocket, branded hardware, and a leather waist patch—only this time they’ve used reclaimed leather to keep things ecologically on-brand.

You can find these jeans over at Blue Owl Workshop for $160, available in two of N&F’s mainstay cuts — Weird Guy and Super Skinny Guy.
