Samurai’s 15oz. Type II Denim Jacket Has Got the Nep

Here we go. Another season, another onslaught of takes on Type I, II & III jackets. While Levi’s might be tired of the “flattery” from all the copycats, one of the nice byproducts for the rest of us is a greater variety of materials, details, and fits.

Japanese denim gods, Samurai, pays homage to the Type II by making their version of the pleated-front, dual-chest-pocket jacket out of the same highly-sought-after, super-neppy, Texas-grown cotton 15oz. indigo-dyed denim that’s found in their highly-regarded jeans. Can there be any more hyphenated adjectives?

While the OG is made of a very precise and flat denim, Samurai’s has a more nuanced appearance with far more texture — ripe for developing excellent fades and general overall character. Same goes for the varied tones of overdyed yellow cotton thread stitching and sterling silver selvedge ID that glimmers in the dark, additional details that stand out now and will only improve over the long haul.

Available for $451AUD (~$350USD) at Corlection.
