TGIFF: Thank God It’s Fade Friday! This week’s edition is a pair of F2001’s from The Flat Head, sent in by Florian Wuersch of Jersey City, New Jersey. After three-and-a-half years and untold washes, Florian has created something to behold.
He wore and washed these bad boys frequently over their service time, though they’re now in retirement and a pair of Stevenson’s have taken over. But Florian says outside of the Stevenson’s and a pair of Roy’s, nothing has come close to his adoration for this pair.
The once-deep indigo has eroded in areas of heavy wear to near pops of white, exposing the texture of the denim. The whiskering in both the lap and knees is unique, as some of it goes vertically and diagonally as opposed to the usual fully horizontal configuration, and honeycombs complete the package along with the nearly blown out back pockets.
May these Flat Heads enjoy their well deserved retirement.
