There’s no messin’ with the moc toe, especially if Red Wing is in the picture. This pair of Red Wing 8173 come to us courtesy of Andre Roy, a boot-lover who stores his shoes in New Jersey. He’s been rocking this particular pair in rotation with other boots for two-and-a-half years now, and they look tough as hell as a result.
It’s always nice to see some well-worn roughout leather, and Andre’s Red Wings are no exception. They’ve developed a rugged patina, picking up some indigo dye on the upper-shaft and tongue, and a balanced level of marks and crocking. The burgundy laces are a nice aftermarket touch, providing a welcome contrast to the rough, sandy roughout leather.
