Today’s Fade of the Day is a pair of Vans Authentics that come to us from Mason in California. After five years of wear, these Vans look more like a modern art installation of a bomb blast than they do shoes, but you can’t deny there’s a massive amount of patina here.
Mason wore these Vans everywhere, from hiking at the top of Yosemite Falls, to traveling in Brussels, Belgium, and Sydney, Australia. In that time, they have been hiked in, slept in, skated in, ripped, torn, beaten, battered, and just plain loved. The original white is now more a dusty cream, and where there was once solid canvas there are now holes that would make swiss cheese jealous.
All in all, credit is owed to Mason and his shoes for lasting through that many years of such intense wear.
