Pure Blue Japan’s First Dip into Sashiko is a Work Jacket

When you’ve got chores in the morning and kendo practice in the afternoon, Pure Blue Japan’s got a jacket in mind for your niche daily agenda. The Indigo Sashiko Jacket is their first dip into the world of sashiko, surprisingly, and it’s got future Fade Friday written all over it.

Using a custom, heavy-duty, indigo infused sashiko fabric that can take a beating (sparring or otherwise), they’ve cut it into a classic work jacket style with no shortage of pockets to hold whatever the job requires. Thick, brushed black resin buttons keep the placket and cuffs in place while the raglan sleeves give a more comfortable fit.

Whether you’re working your way up the kendo ranks, working your way around the wood shop, or just working, you can expect this piece to last you a long time and fade the whole way through.

Available for $365 at Okayama Denim.
