Though it took a few years to get the whole Ivy look right, Kensuke Ishizu eventually did, and then propagated his obsession to the rest of Japan via his own brand as well as through the pages of Men’s Club and the canonical ivy style book, Take Ivy.
Beams carries on the fixation with their Beams+ Spring 2018 shirting. It’s a smorgasbord of lightweight fabrics, including a healthy serving of madras fabric in the form of button downs and a few camp collar styles. Beautifully imperfect handblocked pattern fabrics also occupy a few spots in the collection, alongside dobby print paisleys and band collar linen popovers. It’s all made in Japan and is enough to get you through another generation of Ivy no problem.
The collection ranges from $135 to $192 and it’s available at Unionmade.
