This Crowdfunded Project Wants to Bring Aizome to Bedding

Do you love indigo? Do you love your skin? Do you love the idea of crowd-funding your way to better sleep?

Well look no further than the Indiegogo for Aizome Bedding. The crowd-funding campaign talks up the health benefits of natural indigo, and wants to use traditional Aizome dyeing to put this “great antibacterial and anti-inflammatory” dye on your skin while you sleep—in the form of super-soft cotton sheets. Inferior synthetic dyes can contain all kinds of harmful chemicals, which can be absorbed into the skin causing numerous adverse reactions. And who wants that?  While I’m naturally suspicious of internet things, the company’s overall goals seem pretty noble: to give us 100% natural bedding materials to keep us healthy.

Among other claims, Aizome Bedding also boasts organic cotton, zero-waste production, and a thread count of 400. But, perhaps most incredible is how they managed to keep the natural indigo dye from fading via sound wave technology. Yeah—sound waves.

Crowd-funding is always a gamble, but this is a gamble that could simultaneously improve your sleep and skin, and that sounds pretty good to me.
