Eco-Denim Comes to Iron Heart

As humans continue to leave a heavy footprint on the planet, Iron Heart is doing their part to tread a little lighter. And their desire to make less of an environmental impact has led to the release of their first sustainable selvedge denim, which they deliver in their popular straight cut and slim cut, or 634S-RE and 666S-RE respectively.

Their aim was to produce a recycled selvedge denim, accomplished by mixing 40% regular cotton with 60% recycled cotton, which (naturally) comes from the unused parts of previously made Iron Heart jeans. Since the shorter, recycled cotton fibers don’t take indigo as well, Iron Heart chose to dye the weft an earthy brown to enrich the denim’s color. Weighing in at 14.7oz., both fits are sanforized, complete with the stylings one would expect from Iron Heart, including lined rear pockets, a button fly, hidden rivets, belt loops sewn into the waist band, poly constructional stitching.

If you want to treat yourself and the environment, this denim may be the way to go.

Available from Iron Heart UK in the 634S-RE and 666S-RE for $300.
